Marshfield boasts a vibrant baseball and softball community, with over 600 baseball players and 225 softball players ANNUALLY participating in our town sports programs. The MHS Ballfields serve as a hub for the entire community, supporting youth baseball and softball teams, high school teams, summer league teams, special needs programs and club teams, for both practices and games for athletes ages 13 and older.
After more than a decade of continuous use, these fields have seen considerable wear and tear from heavy activity and routine maintenance. All infields now require reconstruction, and new safety features (drainage, dugouts, fencing) to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. Additionally, we are committed to making the surrounding area at Varsity Baseball ADA-compliant, ensuring that all ballfields at the MHS complex are accessible to all members of the community, including those with disabilities. By investing in these improvements, we aim to support the continued growth of our town’s sports programs while providing an inclusive and safe space for our athletes, their families, and all in our Marshfield community.
Our Non Profit Committee has met with several field construction firms to develop a budget to our project scope. We successfully created our 501c, and in September of 2024 we submitted an application to the CPC, which has been approved by the CPC to move forward to a Town Meeting vote this April.
